 BAROQ at the GRIDIRON HOTEL is een collectief project samengesteld door Joël Verwimp, een Belgische kunstenaar die o.m. actief is als bestuurslid van de Kunstfabrik am Flutgraben in Berlijn. Op vrijdag 4 mei start het publieke luik ervan met een driedaagse opening: het 48hours initial hospitality incident (48hihi). Tijdens hun verblijf in het GRIDIRON HOTEL organiseren de kunstenaars ontmoetingen, performances, workshops, screenings en interventies in de openbare ruimte. Op zaterdagavond bespreken ze hun bevindingen tijdens een podiumdiscussie met Bettina Steinbrügge, directrice van Halle für Kunst van Lüneburg, Lillian Fellmann, artistiek leidster van White, Wide, Wild Space (Zurich) en Simon Sheikh, curator en criticus.

| Potential Estate |
 Potential Estate is een scenario dat in scène gezet wordt door een groep kunstenaars die de artistieke mogelijkheden onderzoeken van het idee om gezamenlijk aan te meren in Noord-Amerika. Na een eerste verkenning in de Verenigde Staten werd het stadje Belgium in Wisconsin, een kleine gemeenschap met inwoners van Belgische en Luxemburgse afkomst, uitgekozen als potentieel terrein voor een residentie-annex-tentoonstellingsproject. Cabinet Reclus – zoals de tijdelijke halte in Netwerk genoemd wordt – neemt vanaf 4 mei zijn aanloop naar de opening op zaterdag 9 juni. Op dat moment wordt het in zijn volledigheid aan het publiek gepresenteerd.

BAROQ at the GRIDIRON HOTEL is a collective project under the artistic guidance of Joël Verwimp, a Belgian Berlin based artist who is also member of the board of the Kunstfabrik am Flutgraben. It starts its public activities with a three day opening, called the 48 hours initial hospitality incident (48hihi). During their stay at the GRIDIRON HOTEL the artists will organize meetings, performances, workshops, screenings and interventions in public space. On Saturday night they will debate their conclusions during a public debate with Bettina Steinbrügge, director of Halle für Kunst in Lüneburg, Lillian Fellmann, artistic director of White, Wide, Wild Space (Zurich) and Simon Sheikh, curator and critic. |
| Potential Estate |
Potential Estate is a scenario, put together by a group of artists examining collaboratively the possibilities of the idea of embarkation in North-America. After an exploratory mission in the U.S., Belgium, a small suburban entity situated in Wisconsin – founded by their Belgian and Luxemburg ancestors, has been identified as a potential terrain for a residential-annex-exhibition-project. On May 4th Cabinet Reclus – the name of their temporary stop at Netwerk – takes a run-up to its opening on Saturday June 9th. At that time the cabinet will be presented in its completeness. |
